Consultancy firm awarded NHS contracts.

The management consultancy firm Baringa has received contracts worth £6.7m from the Department of Health and Social Care since 2020, including a £2.3m contract for managing the NHS Test and Trace programme during the pandemic.

In 2021, the Commons spending watchdog warned the scheme had failed in its “main objective” of cutting infection levels despite having a budget of £37bn of taxpayer’s cash – a reported 20% of the NHS’s budget at the time.
