Neil Record
Record, a former businessman and economist, is a major Tory donor and one of the biggest financial backers of the current leader of the opposition, Kemi Badenoch. He previously sat on the board of the Institute of Economic Affairs, an influential think tank on the right that has called for the NHS’s current general taxation funding model to be replaced by a European-style social health insurance system. Last year, Record himself called for the government to adopt an insurance-based funding model for the NHS.
